| Structural Design The renovation of the existing building and the addition of two new floors incorporate a seismic design that will make the overall structure conform to Section 4303.2 of the San Francisco Building Code. The specifics of the conceptual design are as follows: |

| Moment Frames Nine, steel moment frames will be installed for the full five levels of the structure (basement garage through the fourth floor). Each frame will be supported on either high-capacity deep foundations such as drilled piers, or on spread footings equipped with tie down anchors to resist uplift. Dead and Live Loads The existing foundations and structural frame can carry the additional loads of the two new floors. The design live load is 75 pounds per square foot. Fire Protection Systems a. Building will be fully sprinkled. b. Fire service to the building will be extended from the existing main or from site and connected to the building fire suppression system. c. System operation shall be under pressure provided by fire main. d.
